Beer Tuesday - Abita Satsuma Harvest Wit

Abita Satsuma Harvest Wit. This beer is made with the juice of satsumas, which are a type of seedless orange, sort of. The satsumas used in this beer were grown in Louisiana, keeping with Abita's habit of keeping things local. Just like how their beer is made with water out of the artesian wells of Abita Springs, Louisiana.

I am a huge fan of Abita, with their quirky brews and unique flavors. I'd rate this beer a 4/5. Unfortunately it is not something that is readily available and one I haven't seen in the local stores here in Atlanta for around 2 years now.

Satsuma Harvest Wit certainly has satsuma flavor, along with a touch of coriander and an orange peel aftertaste. Its pretty citrusy which blends well with the malt and hop flavor. 5.2% ABV which makes it not TOO strong, either. Chill and enjoy.

Beer Tuesday: Abita Christmas Ale

If you're interested in tasting an awful beer, look no further than Abita's seasonal Christmas Ale.

I'm not really going to go into the flavor too much, except after drinking one of these pieces of shit I was sorely disappointed and unable to drink any more of them. I almost threw up a little in my mouth about halfway through number one, and used the remainder of the bottle to fertilize my Christmas Tree (and in all honesty I kind of felt bad for my Christmas Tree after I did it). 

On the bright side, the remaining five of these beers get to sit in my fridge for the rest of the year and will demonstrate what a festive Christmas loving person I am. The other idea I have is to go drive around downtown Atlanta and donate them to the first drunk bum I see passed out on the sidewalk.

Christmas Ale? More like Christmas Fail. Please, Abita, stop making this. Use your brewery to make something more productive and stop wasting the space in your brewery to create this garbage. I love Abita just as much as the next guy, but this shit tastes like its made out of recycled Christmas trees.

Beer Review Tuesday - @TheAbitaBeer / Abita Amber Lager

Abita Amber Lager. Vienna Style. 5% ABV. Another definitely lighter style than the other stuff from Abita I've tried. Not enough malt, not enough hops (for me). Kinda meh. Definitely drinkable.

On another note, someone at Abita sent me some stickers and a coaster in the mail. And this nice short little note. Thanks, KT!

Beer Tuesday - @TheAbitaBeer Pecan Harvest

Abita Pecan Harvest. This is another non-standout from Abita. Not bad at all. The only time I noticed any type of pecan flavor was in the aftertaste. Definitely has sort of a "light beer" aura to it when drinking it out of the bottle. Not extremely hoppy nor malty. 5% ABV. Another good offering from Abita.

Beer Tuesday - @TheAbitaBeer Restoration Pale Ale

Abita Restoration Pale Ale. Clocks in at a respectable 5% ABV. Caramely, citrusy, mildly hoppy, mildy malty (by my tongue). It's a decent beer. I'd give it a B, personally. Nothing I'd particularly seek out, but I'd definitely buy it again.

Beer Review Tuesdays! Abita Jockamo IPA

After a short hiatus I'm back to share with you all the wonderful beers I drank over the holidays. I'm gonna go chronologically as possible here.

Today I share Abita's Jockamo IPA. When I first saw the label I wasn't sure about it. Abita has a lot of shitty beers, but I'll try anything once. I was pleasantly surprised by this one. In fact it has turned into one of my standard favorites, and whenever I see it on the beer shelf I'm likely to snag a 6 pack.

Orangey/pineappley/light grapefruit. Perfect maltiness in my opinion, and hoppy but not bitter at all.

Goes perfect with just about anything, and is a fantastic stand alone beer.

Chillin and about to drink some Abita Andygator out on the deck. Back to the grind tommorow
