Beer Review Tuesday! @HeavySeasBeer Small Craft Warning

Heavy Seas Small Craft Warning "Uber Pils". From the Clipper City Brewing Company.

This beer is purportedly the bronze medal winner at the 2004 Great American Beer Festival.

Now, I'm a pilsner lover (amongst many other types of beers). However, I found this pilsner to be complete crap.

I was actually shocked this beer managed to get a B+ on beer advocate. At first I thought maybe I just got a bad batch, but carefully reading the reviews on the beer advocate, I found that I probably got a right on version of this beer.

The flavor? Yeasty and awful. Hops was off, citrus off. 7.25% ABV so I guess the clipper city strategy is to hope someone can choke down a few of these and then not care about the flavor. It actually reminded me of Andygator by Abita, which was another beer that I fricking hated. Avoid Small Craft Warning if you see it! Not worth the "craft price markup."

My overall judgement on this is FAIL.
