Adam Carolla's rant about the Occupy Movement via Forbes.com
I don’t like how Carolla worded his rant but I can relate to his observations. The Occupy Movement lacks cohesion. Lacks a sensible message. The Occupy Movement seems to be a bunch of angry youths looking for a cause to make themselves individually and collectively feel important.
They had no ideas to offer. They are mad at the rich and mad at the banks and mad at the politicians who support the wealthy. How to fix it? No ideas...
I agree with Carolla that a new ethic has taken hold. It is the age of entitlement (not to be confused with enlightenment). "Give me to because you should. Give to me because you have more then I do." They want it all now. They want it given to them. They don’t believe they should have to work long and hard to get it.
And this is why I respect, but don't agree with the Occupy Movement. Fundamental differences. I agree with their basic rights, but I don't agree with their attitudes.
To make it worse, they are being harnessed as a political movement by politicians intent on using them to work the very system they are protesting against. Irony.
