How to cook a beef brisket in the oven.

Beef briskets. Wooeee. I love me some beef briskets. Sliced up n smothered in BBQ sauce. Well, the colder months are here-the cooler days are perfect for using the oven in the kitchen and helping warm the house up a little bit. So I'm always looking for excuses to run my oven for long periods of time. I can also be a lazy cook at times. Anyways, the beef brisket is perfect if you're feeling lazy. #1, you don't have to fuck with it too much. In fact, if you fuck with it too much, you'll wreck it. So take it easy. #2, it takes a really long time to cook. Like, 4 hours. So its not something you have to be constantly checking on etc etc. Just, really simple. And really delicious.

First, you go to the store and buy a 3-4lb beef brisket cut. Briskets come in many sizes. You're picking a smaller sized one because you want it to fit in the fuckin oven without having to cut it up. The big ones are for making BBQ with, but that's a whole nother story.

The great thing about beef brisket is that it is cheap. The bad part is that if you cook the brisket improperly on too high of a temperature, the beef brisket has a tendency to turn into one tough inedible motherfucker. Here's a really good guide on how to select and cook a brisket.

Set the meat out on the kitchen counter and let it come to room temperature. Preheat the oven to 325.

Place a big ass sheet of aluminum foil in the bottom a baking pan. Leave plenty of space around the edges to wrap up the contents inside later. Put your brisket on top of the aluminum foil inside the pan.

Make the sauce. The ingredients I used are;
  • 3/4 cup BBQ sauce - I like Sweet Baby Ray's, but whatever.
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1 cup of water
The sauce is important in the process because it helps keep the meat tender, moist, and delicious.

Slather that fuckin sauce all up on that shit. Make sure get plenty underneath the meat too.

Next, wrap that shit up like a baby. Make it airtight.

Put that shit in the oven. As you can see, I use baking stones. I'm a serious mothafucka in the kitchen. Let that shit slow cook for like 4 hours. Use a meat thermometer and take it out when the internal temp hits 190.

Four hours later and PRESTO! You have a piece of the finest succulent meat in the entire world.

DO NOT OVERCOOK IT OR YOU WILL FUCK IT UP.

Next, slice that shit up and eat it like roast beef. Make a BBQ sandwich. Whatever you wanna do!
