Beer Review Tuesday - Stone Brewing Company, Ruination IPA @StoneBrewingCo

Stone Brewing Co's Ruination IPA.

I first tried this a couple weeks ago. The brewery claims they picked the name Ruination because it "ruins" your palate. I'd beg to differ, but whatever.

The first thing about this beer is that is pretty expensive. Unfortunately, you don't always get what you pay for.

For the price, I was disappointed. As a beer, it is actually pretty good. But economicwise, it isn't really worth what they charge.

If you like your beer bitter, this is a a good choice. I'd probably say this is one of the more bitter IPAs that I've tried. It is hoppy and has a good hop/malt balance. 7.7% ABV so its got a decent kick to it as well.

Maybe just a little too much grapefruit or something. I'm not sure. Its citrusy but just too bitter. It might be better on tap but I dunno.

Doesn't sound like my kind of drink.
